BMW 116D (diesel) achieves 54MPG, which is slightly better than Prius, and comparable emissions as well. All without toxic lithium batteries which have to be thrown away after 10 years, at huge cost to the environment and the consumer. Oh, and it's a RWD, performance-oriented car which is fun to drive and doesn't make you look like a self-conscious, carbon-counting ninny. You really can have it all--unless, of course, you live in the U.S. where we can't buy the 116D. :(

Exactly. Load of bollocks this car is.

That did not appear to park you, it just seemed to turn you like 170 degrees into traffic, had you been on a busy street.

No, i had it on test. It was rubbish.
The gizmo parking thing was pretty mediocre and wasnt reliable enough for everyday parking.
The car was neat with the battery, but it ddnt have enough power or last long enough.
Battery cars will be the way of the future soon enough i guess, but not in the Prius.
It only did 46mpg on the mway at 85mph (i tested it on an autobahn, honest) and 56mpg at 70mph.
46 mpg.....that's still the highest mpg, isn't it?

errr. not really considering a golf diesel will do 55mpg plus under the same conditions. Factor in the difference in fuel costs and you are buying a car that comes all the way around the world, has a limited lifespan of approx 100k and it simply doesn't stack up. The parking gadget was quite funny though!
