@zucchini2007 -- I had to enter a comment in reply in part to @zucchini2007 because I too had never heard of Elaine Paige until Susan said she wanted to be as successful as Elaine. But since I only discovered who Susan Boyle is just last month -- December 2011 -- I'd say its fair to say I knew nothing of either singer. Susan does have a great voice, as does Elaine. But Elaine certainly has more experience and exposure. And @alwayspaul29 - I agree that Elaine's kind words WERE gracious.

@zucchini2007 That's not comparable. You forgot that Elaine Paige works more on stage than in a studio. She was the first Evita, the first Grizabella (the cat that sang Memories in the most successful musical of all times) and sang so many important parts over decades (!). That is a complete other kind of success than counting albums. I do not think that the wonderful Susan Boyle had the number of sold albums in mind either.

I've never heard of Elaine Paige until Susan said she wanted to be as successful as her. Susan has already sold 14 million albums worldwide, hers is the fastest-selling debut album ever, and she has over 300M hits on this website alone. She has FAR surpassed Elaine's success!

hahaha...Elaine wouldnt BE on Larry King if it wasnt for Susan Boyle... send a thank you card for all the free publicity...now alot of people have heard of you that didnt before... she was smiling through gritted teeth... NOTE TO SUSAN : have someone else start your car in the morning
