This is a video I made by taking macro shots of a large painting I made over Plexiglas. I placed the Plexiglas in the direction of sunlight and I catch it on the way through the transparent colored surface, like a catcher with a mitten, onto the camera mechanism. It is a dialogue with one of my monolithic inspirations, Stan Brakhage, his method of production and the beauty it enables one to create. I seek with this to also demystify the process of transition between the era of experimental film, which I constantly cite, and the production of new media works such as video art by way of free appropriation and hybridization of the visual languages.

  • A bit impressive that nobody left you a single comment praising the effort. Well, then, here goes: good work, man. Maybe a bit too long (IMO), but definitely a really nice tribute to SB.
