Battleground Europe (PC) - Gameplay Demonstration(s)

A video showing just some of many gameplay experiences you'll encounter in Battleground Europe. In this video, I play in the British Army as a foot-soldier with a submachine gun and operate a Vickers IV armored vehicle. Battleground Europe, formerly known as World War 2 Online: Blitzkrieg, is a massively multiplayer first person shooter set in World War 2 that pits France and Britain (Allies) against Germany (Axis) on a gigantic world map that's 1/2 the size of Europe. The game focuses heavily on realistic gameplay that is normally found in simulators and allows you to play in the army (foot-soldiers, armored vehicles, AA/AT guns, and trucks), the air force (fighter and bomber planes), and the navy (warships).

Here are just a few of many examples as to why this game is different and more realistic than most other WW2 era shooters:
- One shot from anything and you're either crippled or dead
- All vehicles use a highly complex damage modeling system
- The trajectory of all projectiles is calculated in real-time, even your pistol and rifle bullets!
- There is no "third person" view. You must see through the eyes of a soldier or even the often small viewports in armored vehicles such as battletanks.
- Towns and cities are often placed miles apart and can sometimes take hours to walk from one to another. This is why it's best to either catch a truck at a forward base and ride to your destination or spawn at a mobile spawn point set up by a truck driver who has deployed his truck to serve that very purpose.
- Bridges can be blown, buildings can be destroyed over time by consistent bombing runs, and entire cities can be reduced to rubble over the course of the war.
- As one faction (Allies or Axis) captures points, the entire world map is updated to reflect the changes.

@shaydyknight It's funny you say that because I just started playing yesterday for the first time in months. I'm just using the Free to Play option. I'm really glad this game is now technically free, even with its limitations. There's just nothing else like it.

How do you set it up with a 360 controller

@MickeyMantle55 The same way you set up other controls for keyboard and joystick. The 360 controller is seen as a joystick, so there aren't any special steps you need to take in order to make it compatible.

played 3 years ago, thinking of started back in if i can find the time. Its not about graphics people, its the gameplay..which is in spades in this mmo.

On another note ive been fully addicted to project reality ( abf2) mod. That is pretty damn addictive, i recommend Battleground Europe fans give it a whirl.

The actually have F2P in some version now, if you create a free trial account, and then when the 14 days are up you will still be able to login and play as Rifleman and SMG, but you cannot spawn any other units, and you cannot capture any flags. So to be able to access the full game you would have to pay, they have a special prize for Free trialers of 12.99$ / a month for 3 months, after those 3 months it will be the normal prize of 17.99$ / month. i tried to play in 2010 after the update and you needed more graphic stuff so i cant play now you need like shader model 3.0 so im sad that i cant play
