Yeah, Ash is "dead", sadly (technically, never existed). I'd actually been out of the KoF loop since '99 and upon hearing that the team with Iori, Vice, & Mature would be back and it would be the first HD installment of KoF, I got KoF XIII. Now, Ash is one of my favorite characters and I'm sad to see him go, as awesome as his end was. He was too beautiful to stay in the world and that temporary nature itself lends to his beauty.

Shiyosuke, don't be so sure that Ash might not die. It depends on what path he chooses and besides if he did die, then it is his own fault.

@junglefuryguy2008 Ash is gone in most of the endings of KOF XIII. He still may be alive in other endings. Imma wait for the console ver. to make sure. But Ash died as hero so far as every one said to me. He used his power to rid the world of his (evil) ancestor and gave chizuru and Iori's powers back in the end. if he didnt his ancestors would have just recreated himself again. But to me i dont like the fact of him dying but as long as he died a hero i guess im not too upset.
