Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery. It is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision.Blefaroplastia é o tratamento para remoção do excesso de pele e bolsas de gordura que se acumulam sobre as pálpebras superior e inferior.Com o envelhecimento a pele das pálpebras rende a ficar mais flácida, assim como a musculatura de sustentação dos olhos. Algumas pessoas têm maior tendência a formar aquelas bolsas de gordura sob a pálpebra, isso se agrava com a perda do tônus muscular que mantém as bolsas. Com o tempo a musculatura flácida associada ao excesso de pele faz com que as pálpebras fiquem pesadas e caídas

Because the patient must pull faces, open mouth wide, squint eyes etc, to ensute the everything is OK, and to 'set up' the stitches.
