Just ordered my MCs today! It seems as if they have smaller heads in the shorter clubs which I liked more than the larger heads in the 53s.

@curry66 The TMs appear to have stronger lofts in the long irons, so you are probably not comparing apples with apples. Distance is not a good way to compare irons - if you want more distance use the next club down in your set or switch to a set of cast cavity backs!

I own both sets of these and the Taylormade is by far the better iron. About 5 yards longer on the TM's both my sets are 2* Up with S300 so that should be a good apples for apples for you.

@mitchy5580 I have the MP T10 which is basically the same thing and mine has been hit out of fairways and rough and it looks like I've been hitting it out of the rocks. It's a great club, don't get me wrong, but if you want something that will hold up its looks better, I would lean towards the Cleveland CG15's, which I own now.

@mitchy5580 Just got the MP T11 in the Black Satin, I was told the same thing about the "look" after awhile, but as far as I'm concerned, it hits well, I'll buy another one if it really bothers me that much in the long run.

MIZUNO FTW!!! Mark, would you recomend the mpt11 wedges because as they are forged ive been told that they look awful after a while? Thoughts??

@itubeutude If mark swings at the same speed with the same launch angle equal force will go onto the ball and they will go the same distance (give or take a little for spin). If you launch lower you will hit further, with the same swing, if you took a 3 iron head onto a PW shaft then put a P on the bottom you could hit really damn long PW's and brag, but would it really be useful when you want to hit the green from 100yds and pitch 6 feet before the pin?

what about distance? does trackman measure that?

I'm looking to get a new set of irons and would love to see a comparison between the Mizuno mp53 and the Ping s56 in terms of feel, forgiveness, looks, etc. Those are the two I am leaning towards.
