Cervical spine surgery is performed to treat either nerve / spinal cord impingement (decompression surgery) or spinal instability (fusion surgery). Posterior cervical decompression & fusion operation helps to relieve pressure on neural or vascular structures. For more info on spine surgery check with the below website www.spineservice.com.au

  • Thank you for your kind response. I am hopeful hearing positive results from people like you who have been there.

  • @pjws2006 we have the same problem I had a severe spinal stenosis, from C5 to C7 and T1 and T2 and my dr put 6 titanium screws and cut all my cervical vertebrae and all kinds of conventional therapies didn't work. Good my prayers for you.

  • Thank you for your prompt and kind response. I am on the east coast in the Carolinas. I plan to procede with surgery. I have severe spinal stenosis multilevel and all the conventional therapies have not helped.

    Thank you again.

  • @pjws2006 I live here in California, and I had my surgery in East Campus Hospital a Spine Center own by Loma Linda Medical Center. If you have a severe case, lots of pain, tightness and if your walking is affected go for the surgery don't wait that your spinal cord will be damaged. But you should ask your neurosurgeon if PT will work for you, my neurosurgeon told me that if I don't have lots of pain and difficulty walking he will not going to operate me.

I am scheduled for a cervical spinal fusion using a new procedure. Any advice?

What region of the country are you from?

  • I just had my Posterior Cervical Decompression/Laminectomy Fusion Surgery last February 24, 2010, and I am glad I had a surgery right after my surgery the following day the tightness and dullness of pain went away. Thank you God for the best neurosurgeons in the world.
