The Sonics, the legendary rockers from Tacoma, Washington return to the Pacific Northwest for their first show in their homebase in 36 years. After their first reunion show at the Cave Stomp in New York last year, and a series of shows in Europe, this hometown performance was long overdue.

The Sonics are Jerry Roslie (vocals & keyboards), Larry Parypa (guitar), Rob Lind (saxophone & harp) Don Wilhelm (bass), and Ricky Lynn Johnson (drums). On this song, they are joined by original drummer Bob Bennett and Little Steve Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteens E Street Band.

This is an audience-based recording, captured from row R on the floor in the Paramount Theater. This is a performance of LOUIE LOUIE, the iconic garage rock anthem written by Richard Berry, made famous by the Kingsmen, Paul Revere & Raiders, Rockin Robin Roberts & the Wailers, Iggy Pop, the Kinks, John Belushi and the Sandpipers. I gotta tell y`all, this song needs to be retired. As cool as it is, there is only so much you can take. One more cover or rendition and I may be forced to off myself. The Sonics are the only band that make this song bareable.

the right connection between the pionners of rock and what do the Stooges and the MC5 after and after after the Sex Pistols and others. The garage Punkers at the top, just killer and pure lust.
