Is this a Genesis 2? Or is it a Megadrive 2? I took off the cover of my Genesis 2 and the Motorola chip is much smaller and is more towards the upper right corner of the motherboard.

Oh, and just a few crazy ideas you might want to try. 1. Bending the cartridge pins. Might end up with a mixture of glitches. 2. Cut lines between chips and the cartridge etc and hook the lines up to a push-to-break switch.

Yeah, there's an epic funk-out there.

Do you think it's possible to bent just the sound-chip with the video procceeding normal?
That'll be cool

It is possible. Play with the Motorola chip and the smaller Yamaha YM2612 though it seems to hang a lot.

Great, what chips were you bending?
You seemed to get some neat logic glitches, rather than plain old graphic glitches.

There's a large Motorola chip just behind the cartridge socket. Have a play with that.
Unfortunately the video seems to lockup as soon as anything interesting happens but the audio continues and you can get some interesting results, including actually changing which synth patch is playing the actual sound as you can hear at 00:43
