I use that PAP route in ascension. Just put up a video on how to kite them actually.
Once you get the route right, you can hit round 100 with a pistol if you will. It just takes lots of time.

@ZEROSKATER19931 I'm not exactly sure, it may be that the colors denote which perk the monkey goes for, but don't quote me on that.

@ElitexSquad It was actually the first time I used that trap so I had no idea either. There's also an acheivement for killing a monkey with one of those which I got earlier in the game
