Hello, I am Dr. Lawrence and this is a Society for Vascular Surgery briefing about circulatory problems in the legs. Poor circulation in the legs may cause many problems, from fatigue in the thighs or calves when walking, to sores or ulcers in the ankle and toes that will not heal. Occasionally, the circulation in the legs becomes so bad that an area of gangrene develops in the toes. When you have any of these conditions, you should seek the advice of a vascular surgeon, who is a specialist in the diagnosis and management of circulation problems in the legs.
