A weekend project for my class

To design and build an egg carrier for 6 eggs.

It must survive a drop from 1 meter and having a 1 Kg weight dropped on it from a meter.

i chose a triangular shape because they are strong and when the weight was dropped on it, it would take one hit and fall down the side.

The whole thing was made from cardboard

  • we have to drop ours off of the football stadium..we can onl use toothpicks and hot glue during class time. however im experimenting at home and i only have tape. my cone shaped idea failed because it is extremely difficult to make a cone. lucky you got cardboard.

  • @izombiac24 goodluck

  • Thanks for the video. it really helped me because i have to do an egg drop for my class, i would love to be able to make one like yours but i don't think i can. Any advice?

  • @casper99740 best thing to do is to cushion and suspend the egg, so that i can absorb the bounce

  • How did you come up with this idea?

  • @coloranimalcrackers well i knew i wanted to use card because its cheap and recyclable, although it needed to be strong and a triangle is a very strong shape

  • Nice job. My teacher made us drop our egg off the auditorium(about 35 feet). The device had to be smaller than 15cm and he had to see and touch the egg.

  • @izombiac24 and i thought just paper was hard..but damn toothpicks ??

  • The eggs that fell were fine... Until they took an arrow to the knee...

  • I'm making one that has to be dropped from 25ish meters, and I was thinking if the bottom (we aren't dropping a weight on top of it) had a triangular shape, it would deflect the force of the fall.
