Windhaven : Thunder & Lightning (dev. video 14)

Windhaven is a fantasy flight simulation game, in development for the Xbox360 and PC. It uses a unique control layout (one stick for each wing) and flexible-lifting-surface physics model to capture the experience of bird flight. Windhaven has 16 story missions with voice acting and cutscenes, racing, shooting and soaring challenges, and a realistic bird flight simulation mode.

This video demonstrates two new special abilities; Crystal Egg, which is a dual purpose shield and short range projectile attack, and Chain Lightning, for when you absolutely positively have to kill every enemy on the screen. It also features two new enemies, the Nightmare Stars which fire powerful homing plasma bolts, and the Shadow Slicers which flock around and try to defend the larger enemies. The last part of the video shows the Golden Nest items, which you can collect in free flight mode to unlock bonus content. Finally there are some engine improvements such as partial dynamic lighting and a shoreline waves effect.

And will be In the game very free flight, where we can fly everywhere, walk on ground, make nests, with no checkpoints, like in Fly like a Bird 3?

Who would want to play a person who was born with dragon blood and is destined to rid the world of dragons and can shoot fire and lightning from his hands, when you can play as a SEAGULL. I mean come on!

@MeandDragons Windhaven will be released on the Xbox360 first, and then the PC later. Online multiplayer is in development.

I think, the game should be more peaceful. There's to much fighting, its going to be a battle game, not a bird simulator. And MONSTERS? Phew.
