Russo: good vault, but she landed straddled! i think this is probably a bigger deduction than a step.
Memmel: great vault, big step, nothing you can do about it.
Liukin: good god, she was skinny then! great vault, big hop, but the hop saved her vault! it would have been a disaster without it!

the Australians wont admit their girls was a bit sloppy but all they did was criticize chellsie

i love Monette, but seriously, that was not a "great" start. it was a fairly sloppy vault.
nothing against the gymnast, just saying that you can definitely tell the bias of the Australian commentators. ;-)

The bias was obvious but that is normal. There is nothing wrong with cheering for your country! Of course your own team can do no wrong. The commentators try to be objective but this is the only time Australia has ever gotten an AA medal, right? Give 'em a break.
