Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers was one of the supporting acts that opened for the Beatles when they played at the Circus Krone-Bau, Munich on June 24, 1966.

Here are 2 songs from that concert:

1. "Ain't Love Good, Ain't Love Proud"
2. "No, You Can't Love 'Em All"

BTW ... The Rebel Rousers are using the drums from the Rattles, another group playing at that show.

  • The band I was in did a gig where we supported these guys. We were utterly knocked out, we'd heard nothing like it before. Frank Allen was still with them then on bass and Dave Wendells on guitar. Frank left to join the Searchers and Dave to Lulu's Luvvers.

  • Awesome recollections .... thanks .....

  • Brilliant stuff!

  • Totally agree, one of the best live bands out there.

  • I guess that this is about the only way there is to find out how Cliff and the boys sounded on stage back in those days. I really appreciated watching this video and it proves that they were the great live band that the rock encyclopedias say they were. I have collected most of their recorded output on CD and it is well worth exploring.

  • We're very fortunate to have these vintage live performances available today on tape and dvd.

Yes, Cliff and the band were (are) great!

  • It boggles my mind that the audience isn't just going ape shit over how amazing they are. If, by some act of time travel, I was in that audience I would be up the front dancing and generally basking in their awesomeness.

  • Pretty sharp there dude..

  • Anyone notice the drum kit. Its none other than The Rattles. Great German band who went on to have a big hit in 1970 with The Witch....

  • Wow, that must have been amazing seeing them perform back in 1964! Musically, they're one of the tightest bands I've ever heard.
