  • Too little of The Mothers exist on video- can you imagine a complete video of Billy the Mountain?? I was always a big fan of the original Mothers, but the Flo & Eddie years were also very exciting...their satire was a perfect fit with Frank.

  • Their satire? While you could say F&E added their own personal touch to the 70-71 edition of the Mothers, I think most (though not all, as Kaylan wrote some lyrics like "Magdalena") of the lyrics and conceptions were Frank's. F&E sang Frank's stuff. They were members of an ultra-clean boy band before. The legend goes that F&E were happy to work with Frank because they wanted to get rid of the clean-cut image of their Turtles era.

  • whats with the Flo and Eddie bullshit, I thought this was the real Mothers

  • Is the real Mothers for you the original (1965-9) Mothers? You may not like the later bands, but Mothers pretty much was the name of Zappa's backing bands up to 1976. That includes the Flo & Eddie band (1970-71), the Roxy band (1973-74) and the later lineups up to 1976 when FZ dropped the MOI handle for good.

  • Of course I'm talking about the original Mothers.I know he had many incarnations of " The Mothers" as a touring group.I'm not trying to split hairs here, and mean no offense. But come on,the original Mothers are the shit.

  • Of course the original Mothers were great, but many later incarnations are written off, because they were too different from the first MOI. A very pervasive school of thought (not saying that you represent it) is that Zappa was great until he disbanded the Mothers, and then after 1970 he got cynical and sold out or something. Most certainly not true. Ok, Flo&Eddie band was a step down, but the 1973-74 group was one of his best post-sixties bands. "Roxy" is one of my favorite Zappa albums.

  • Totally fricken-a rocks hard. Twisted video.

  • 9 people don`t dig the fins

  • "Vegetarian poodle clipping"... ha ha... !

  • I mean, what can a person, like myself, say to a vegetable?

Classic, one of my favorites from Mr Frank Thanks for the cool video

  • i noticed Dweezil dubbing this song on stage but the low brash voice from the cigs that his father had can not be dubbed even by his son, but then if his son would break out of the 'mold' and move to new ground there could be some intense music to be heard .. I figure that shadow will always be there for him ,, sad.

  • wow, this is the "Just Another Band from LA" live recording , very cool, one of my favorite LP's of all time, still have the CD, the album is long gone, too bad

  • Volman is a madman! And Kaylan is just in another world. What a combo. Flo, Edddie, and Frank.

  • The Dook of Proonez iz rezpoding! Hey where's your sense of humor. Too much analysis not enough of action babies!

  • does anyone know where a place where they have billy the mountain and this song to download from? my dad really wants them but torrent..limewire..itunes..and others dnt have it. =/
