Raycatcher is a new PC game that syncs it's gameplay to MP3s on your computer. That means that you can play your favorite songs, and Raycatcher will actually morph it's self to match your music.

check out http://www.thinkingstudios.com to download a demo, and find out where you'll eventually be able to get the full version -- It will be coming soon.

the music in this video is by "Noobie Noobinson and the double boomskies", a great band who contributed a lot of music to Raycatcher. You can check them out here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid...

This game was made by 2 people in our spare time. If you like what you see, forward this video on to your friends! We could use the support!

  • it actually is. i just downloaded it and it's fucking boring. and it's not always sync.

  • Don't buy this game. Controls are terrible, game play is boring as Moses and it doesn't even sync to music like it says it does. So crappy.

  • @LoneRenegade

That song (and everything from Noobie Noobinson) is up on iTunes and Amazon.

  • Audiosurf is WAAYY better..... Lol, i can even make this kinda games......

  • no guys, your ears just sucks. I can even see on this movie that is DOES synchro with music. Sometimes to the beat, sometimes to louder/deeper sounds. So yeah, IMO this game is boring as hell, but synchro somehow works..

  • The game looks so boring. Audiosurf is a lot better.

The song is really good however. Thanks for posting the link to their profile.

  • played demo

    boring and visuals look so..retro.

just needs a bit more work, and it just MIGHT me audiosurf competitor. but right now full game looks like audiosurf's retarded cousin :[

  • Doesnt look as satisfying as Audiosurf or Non-custom music games like GH. I'm downloading the Demo now.

  • Played the Demo. So boring, I didn't even feel like it was syncing with the audio at all.

    Repetitive and boring.

  • My friend gave me 4.50 to get this game so he could try it on my account. As everyone else says, it doesn't sync to the music at all. You might as well be playing Winamp and loading no sound at all and will have the exact same gameplay.

Wasn't worth the 18 quarters m'boy dropped on it. I give it a 5/10 at best. Hopefully they will update it into an actual game, instead of some backwards Missle Command rip with pretty colors.

  • I am too, and as I said above, I really wanted to like this game. I noticed very quickly, that the game was amazingly shallow, and no matter what song you pick, you have to struggle to notice any difference in levels. Not even the background doesn't flash to the music tempo, no sound effects, no nothing. Wave after wave of different colored "rays" at a steady, unrelated-to-the-music, pace. Although the game was cheap, I sure as hell hope they will add new features to the game.

  • This game supports wav files, so it seems ludicrous that it doesn't support flac, which is the most popular compressed lossless format. I would have to actually decompress my flac files to make them play in this game.

No one wants big uncompressed wav files in their hard drive.
