  • Your comments on interpretation are noted and much appreciated. However, as for due respect, you should know that I, myself, am Sir Paul J. Murray, but I don't lose sleep when somebody doesn't call me "Sir Paul."

  • very good playing! too bad the audience was so tiny!

  • Actually, it was pretty good for an organ recital!

  • whoa there! slow down! think warm summer evenings, gin & tonic, sponge & custard, stiff upper lip and all those other quintessentially english things!

shame about the acoustic - 5 manuals, hundreds of stops and too many carpets!

    great playing though! nice registration.

  • @pipeorganistnick of course it is but the mournful nature for me comes in the composition not a laborious tempo. This interpretation is perfect for me. @pipes4life12 an Elegy for a wedding? Interesting.

  • @joecarrel It is an Elegy though, which is supposed to be a mournful song for the dead.

  • This is the very best performance of this wonderful piece on YouTube - thank you - it is so often played too slowly and mournful.

  • @PJMurray730 I liked your interpretation! I would have taken it a touch slower because that's me...but when I recommended this piece to a bride for her wedding, I sent her your video. Beautiful playing...SIR Paul!

  • @marsvltor2 a loss of organ is nothing when you consider the possible amounth of people killed during WWii. =) so, let's be happy and thankful =)

  • Perfect

  • Funnily enough I played this piece after a funeral just the other day - I was actually expecting the usual insulting CD in and out, so hadn't brought music with me, and found it tucked away in a corner of the organ loft beside the somewhat butchered 2 manual Bevington I was playing on that occasion.

Thalben-Ball's sound is so quintessintially English don't you think :) Reminding you of tea on the lawn in the sunshine :) Michael

  • Keep talking like that and we wont save your insignificant country in the next war.

  • Very well done. I watch this video from time to time. One of my favorite pieces....ever. I just purchased a digital Hauptwerk "virtual pipe organ" for my home and use the Notre Dame Cavaille-Coll sample most of the time. The sound is breath-taking to say the least. I can not find "Elegy" anywhere on the internet. Would you send me in the right direction to find it? The beautiful strings of the Cavaille-Coll would sound awsome with this piece.

Thanks for posting the video of "Elegy".
