This series of video's is great. I recommend new tower defence game type players watch them to learn some good idea's for how best to place your towers.

Apparently the Xbox version at least has gone through some balancing changes. I did exactly what you did and lost a core at the end. Sorry, I have to thumbs down since it no longer applies.

I always thought I lost points when they grabbed the cores so I built too many towers to reach the maximum points. Sucks that people hack the scoreboards so we cant see real highscores.

This looks like a great series - I've thoroughly enjoyed the game since I got it on XBL a month ago. I was thinking of writing a strategy guide but these vids look like they'll do the job fine - especially gold medals, I was very curious how you can get them on the early levels, I guess it's down to how efficient your tower placement is.

Non-comparable. In my opinion this is way more fun and harder than the flash tower defense games.
