Stu talks you through what he has done to prepare in case the power goes out.

As the skies rain down on the Gold Coast, Green Cross Australia CEO reports what it is like to be flooded in. Over the next couple of days Mara Bun reports from Tallebudgera Valley.

Mara and Stu will share what it is like to be isolated, report on other families in the area and let you know what they have done to be prepared.

From Mara, ''This blog relates to around 20 families that live on or off a side road at the top of Tallebudgera Valley. As of two hours ago we were cut off from the upper catchment creek that leads into Tallebudgera River.

Over a 72 hour period we measured around 300 mls of rain as of the morning of 24 Jan 2012 (yesterday) so we were not surprised with the Bureau issued a formal flood warning yesterday" (less info)
