Feminine sensuality (Renoir)

(Limoges 25-02-1841 / Cagnes 03-12-1919)

Zijn werk valt onder het impressionisme.
Tot zijn vrienden behoorden o.a. Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Frederic Bazille, Camille Pissaro en Paul Cézanne. In 1888 kreeg Renoir last van een vorm van reuma, en een jaar later raakte zijn rechterarm verlamd.
Daarna werkte hij door met een penseel aan zijn pols gebonden.
Zijn schilderij "Bal au moulin de la Galette" is het één na duurste ooit verkocht (78 milj. dollar)

Renoir was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the impressionist style.
As a celebrator of beauty, and especially feminine sensuality, it has been sad that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau"

What's up with the picture dimensions? They are all distorted.

it took me a while to figure it out, but when you are using the zoom ability in the software of photomorph, this distortion appears if you zoom in to close...
