Fixing a garage-door tension requires lifting the door in its full upright position, clamping down the springs to keep them in place and adjusting the tension spray as needed. • This is NOT the correct way to adjust a garage door. Why would you give people incorrect information?

  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY

  • Any time you are going to adjust something under tension just call a professional. The way this is explained is probably not the best way, although I am sure it works for him. I highly recommend against it and would never train my technicians to do tension adjustments in this manner.Be Careful. Garage doors can cause Serious injury and even death.

  • No.

  • I used a modified version of this method. I did everything he said except adjusted the pulleys rather than the spring bar. If you push your door up high enough, you'll get some slack in your pulley cable. Scotch the door there while pushing up on it. Then you pull the slack out by winding the pulley until the cable is tight again. That way, you tighten the cable where you scotched it. Then you reset the pulley screws. You have to do one side at a time. Not dangerous bc spring not involved.

  • OMG! I can only imagine that this guy had no idea and this was what he figured out on his own. Definatly not the safest or the easiest way to attempt this and certainly not a way I would recommend to anybody.

  • this guy is huts.if you realy want to get hurt ,listen to him.before you start make shore you dial 91 on your cell phone so when you get hurt (and you will) you just have to push 1 to call 911

  • this will injure people! This is so dangerous! Rather call a professional to do this. I am a garage door technician too and this is sort of thing is what gets people seriousy hurt!

  • I have been working on garage doors for 30 years .I have never adjusted spring tension like that. This is going to get someone hurt. This is a perfect way to screw up a garage door. Do not try this, call a door professional.......

  • This guy is an idiot! Please nobody try this at home! Call a trained service technician. That is not the appropriate way to adjust tension on a garage door.

  • NO ONE should follow the instructions in this video... for the average homeowner, your best bet is to call a professional. Garage doors, springs, and cables are dangerous.
