This a great idea and kind of a tutorial that shows you how to make these funny, easy but beautiful easter eggs/birds.
If you need more details, check out my other tutorial about quilling, where I explain the basics:

  • is there any substitute in the pen like thing where the paper rolled??

  • You mean that you want to find a sustitute for the quilling tool? I don't know, maybe you can make something like that even with a wooden stick.. I haven't tried...

  • Is there a list that I should buy? I think quilling tool(obviously), colred paper strips - are they called quilling paper or any paper is ok?

Am going quilling shopping today! :)

  • .. I just buy regular colored paper of 120-140 grams per square meter (approx) wich I think is the best thikness, heavier than that just doesn't make as regular shapes.. and I cut it with a metallic ruler and a cutting tool (scalpel).. because it's much cheaper that way... and you need glue off course any type really, you just want to make sure it becomes transparent when it dries. You might need some practicing with the shapes first, but don't worry you'll get there..

  • very beautiful..

  • You have to insert the paper a little further, it's easier and then pull it back... and then you always have to hold it together, even when you take it off, make sure that your fingers are all around it.. pinch it in between your fingertips so that the circles don't move.. You'll find the easiest and quickest way, don't worry!! If your first ones are not good, just throw them away.. you can not really fix them once they slip away...

  • ive kind of learnt how to insert it now :)

But, know what? The pulling out is lil' problem - like the center is still on the tool (wen i oull out), and it was sticking out. So, I had to trim the center portion and remove the sticking our part :/

  • woohoo! I made my first tear drop now. It came out good. :)

Only difficulty I had was, putting the paper strip thro the tool. How DO you do that so easiily? I was struggling more than 20 mins on that :|

  • Well, you will obviously need a quilling tool, wich is very unexpensive, I bought mine in an Art & Craft shop, it cost 7 euros and there were two of them in the set. At the same place you will propably find quilling paper stripes that are already cut the same size wich they sell in packs of the same color or matched color tones... These are 3 mm large.. sorry I'm not sure about the american sizes... I guess it's easier to buy this if you are just getting started..

  • Thanks!

    HAVE FUN!!!

    :))
