In 1969, Anthony Newley hosted this show called The Hollywood Palace. It featured songs all written by him and Leslie Bricusse, all sung on the show by Newley himself, and/or by one of the guests he lined-up for the evening. All women of course...

I didn't capture EVERYTHING from it. Just most of the parts involving Tony. No requests, please.

Newley performs his closing number, the ever popular, "What Kind of Fool Am I?" from Stop the World I Want to Get Off.

**I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THIS VIDEO. My only intention is to expose Mr. Newley to those who wish to see him. I will oblige any request to take this down.**

  • So brilliant...the man & his song and was fortunate early 70's Tony Newley in Concert at the Greek Theater...never will forget this legend live on stage, RIP Mr. Newley, you are loved and missed!

  • @wigglywigglesworth You are so fortunate to have seen Newly in person.

  • This would surely bring the house down anywhere in the world!

    Wonderful!

  • @garethessex Then why are you posting here?

  • He was a musical genius! Nobody could sell a song the way he did. One of my favorite Anthony Newly songs was Look at that Face. Does anybody have a video of that one that they can post? I would deary love to see it.

  • I saw Newley do a revival of "Stop the World" (either late 70s or early 80s) he was incredible. Obviously a Great song but to me the most moving song in the show was "Someone Nice Like You" ( "If we could Live twice- I'd make life paradise- for someone really nice- like you") He sang that to his wife when they were older regretting the fact that he had been a less than perfect husband over the years......

  • Wonderful! He was such a brilliant performer and it great to see him again.

Thank You Sir or Madam for Posting.

A few years ago I heard an ignorant radio host on CBC here in Canada disparage Mr. Newley after one of his songs was played saying "he'd never heard of him".

I always say : "It's better to remain silent and look like an idiot than to open your mouth an remove all possible doubt".

  • Wow. What a showman.

  • @bridges52news Jerry Vale was/is a wonderful singer. But Newley singing his own songs is high art.

  • he sings this song better than anyone, altho I much prefer the original ending that was on the cast album. But I heard he never sang any song the same way twice.
