  • absolutely stunning.

why aren't there more versions of this on youtube?

  • she's a spiritual leader; not just a singer...her lyrics and voice are like a beacon reminding us all what "home" and "life" is for; thanks so much for sharing this clip; i saw her live at Massi Theatre in 1996 or 97; "Tiny little lights" tour; was incredible

  • great recording on pieces of you. more powerful when only the voice emotion is present. who were those fans...that kept yelling when she was trying to sing!btw! this is an outtabody experiece song.+ doppleganger./ masterpiece brilliant

    ps. jewel come here

  • I definitelly think it's one of her best songs...so honest, so beautiful...and performed in one of the best cities I've ever been...love Chicago.

  • The best "not too well known" song from Jewel. Amazing...

  • I've always loved this song. It even inspired part of an instrumental piece I wrote on 12-string guitar. Jewel is very talented and very intelligent. She's quite an incredible person with wisdom and great depth.

  • @nokturnSoul For real, it's one of my favorite songs

  • One of the best songs ever written

  • @ayerslay yo same here!!! That album is my favorite too. It's the deepest - hits u at the core.

  • jewel's whole pieces of you album is one of my favorite albums of all time..the lyrics on that album..her voice the music..it still too this day hits me right in my 'soul''..makes me tear up with overwhelming emotion ..such a pure raw album with so much poured into it.

  • This has to be sometime around 1996-1997, right? Just judging from the video quality and her shorter hair. One of her best--and haunting--songs.

  • "Pieces of us die every day, as though our flesh were hell."

    and

"Some are being beaten, some are being born, and some can't tell the difference any more."

are two of the most powerful lines in my opinion.
