It's auto, as long as you hit the required element grid of certain combinations of characters, the elements will automatically switch to a double or triple tech.

@NegativeAXZ I cant agree with the statement that a lot was screwed up in this game. I absolutly love this game, it stands as my favorite game of all time. Would I like to have seen Magus, of course, but i dont think him not being in it hurt the game.

I would LOVE to see this game get an HD remake.

@NegativeAXZ It actually would have made a lot of sense for him to be in this game. And I think a lot of people would have been really happy. My guess is they couldnt find a way to make the character fair as a partner. Because Magus has already been a Major Boss, and a Party member in a quest thats already been completed, weakening him to Serge's level wouldn't have done the character justice. And putting him in the game at his correct power would have made the game too easy.

@SerothTalon1 by what ive learned guile was originally suppose to be magus/janus. but they scrapped the idea because it got too complicated or something.  i think it wouldve been cool

@chrischimera Magus doesnt appear in this game, which is unfortunate because they reference him a few times in the game, And supposedly he is supposed to be guarding Kid from the shadows.
