A video showing what can be done with simple rigs and antenna's and QRP.Lots of fun for not much money.Hope this will encourage those learning CW or building their own qrp rigs...Or maybe both!

  • @aerobob427 Dear Aero BOB..!

Take your time.Follow the Elecraft instructions to the letter.Use a magnifier lens and a good light and solder carefully and you will have one of the best qrp rigs available on planet Earth!I have had so much fun with my K1.I hope you have the same experience. The Elecraft auto tuner looks good also!

Let me know how it goes.

  • Sandy, Really nice fist with the Elecraft k1.Enjoyed your video but have one question.Does the Elecraft K1 offer an internal antenna tuner?

  • @reese1011 Hi Kenneth,

Yes the K1 can be built with the option of internal atu.Ofcourse mine hasn't.It's a great rig for a qrper and home bulider. My K1 covers the 40/30/20/15 meter bands. They are quite expensive now.But in my opinion worth the money.

  • @G0VQW Ok Sandy. I'll try and listen out for you.

  • Sandy, thanks for taking us all along with you to your portable site in near Swindon! Very enjoyable to join you via YouTube, hear all that great CW and see your excellent QRP /P station. 73, Lynn

  • @johnrob281 Thanks John,

That K1 is superb. So is the K2.I built both of them.Luckily for me they worked first time.Just got to follow the assembly manual to the letter. If you can solder, you can build a K1/K2...I really enjoy /p John.Going to do a lot more this year. It's great to be outdoors in wild high places and qso with a few friends.I love the lack of man made noise!Thats a real winner in this ever crowded country full of PLT and plasma TV qrm..!

    Keep up the CW

  • I am always surprised by how well the K1 performs. It seems to attract attention because I have often had qso after qso when I tell them I'm running a K1..!
