Today is the last of four days that Amtrak is detouring three regional trains from the shoreline route to the inland route between New Haven and Boston because of bridge work at New London, CT. The inland route goes through Hartford, Springfield and Worcester. Here we see a very long northbound Amtrak Regional No. 1170 stopping at Hartford, CT. All of the Acela Express trains are canceled between Boston and New York these four days, so these three regionals are carrying heavy passenger loads in long trains.

  • Nice station

  • That looked to be the mostly normal 8-car consist for a Regional train.

  • Cool video.
