Dandansoy is a famous folk song from Culasi, Antique (Philippines).

[(and here again, one of my faves..^^), oh i played it twice ^^ cos it's too short..^^]

Dandansoy, iiwan ko ikaw
Babalik ako sa Payaw
Kung ibig mo akong matanaw
Ay doon mo ako parunan

Kung sakaling ikaw'y maglakbay
At dalawin mo ang Panay
Kung sakaling ikaw'y mauhaw
Hukayin ang tubig sa daan

Translation:

Dandansoy, I must leave you today
And Payaw is far, far away
If you long for me, son
You come to Panay where you'll find me at home

When you go on the journey afar
To your parents there in Payaw
If you thirst with your trav'lers load
You must scoop a small well in the road

Tama ka.... The true composer is the late Augorio Abeto from Binalbagan. Payao is one barangay of the municipality of Binalbagan.

Baka ang tinutukoy nya ay ang English translation ng Dandansoy.

hello c Fortunata Magsipoc kahit saan mo hanapin wla s listahan ng mga filipino writers but c Augorio Abeto s nandyan kahanay nya c jose palma cguro nmn kilala mo rin yun? how come na ma compose uli ang isang song after 35 yrs? bka hndi dandansoy yung sinasabi mo?isa p wlang payao s antique s negros lng meron hehehe.and its it was not written in ilonggo but in hiligaynon dialect ok.

Correction, it was my GrandAunt FORTUNATA MAGSIPOC LEDESMA who composed this song. She is the sister of my maternal grandmother FELIZA MAGSIPOC LOMUGDANG She hails from Culasi, Antique in Panay Island, Western Visayas Philippines.
