This video was taken after I laced my first wheelset. 26" rims for my single speed bike. Since this was my first build ever, it took me 3 hours to build and true two wheels. Here's one of the best sources online for wheelbuilding: http://sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html

The sound in the beginning of the video is the rim scraping against my Park Tool wheel truing arm...just to let you know how warped my wheel was.

I forgot to mention that I'm using Nashbar flip flop hubs.

  • dude sorry to burst your bubble, but you've also got to take into consideration the radial truing, which even by this video i can tell is way out of true. keep worknig on it though

  • No worries. Definitely appreciate your comment. I realized that my truing arm on my bike stand was not very precise after another build. So in Sept 08, I bought a Minoura Workman Pro Truing Stand which made a huge difference in wheel building. Highly recommend it as it is affordable.

  • Wheel truing in the kitchen. You the Man!!! I've done that too. No so bad though, was it?! You get better at it each time you true or build up a wheel set. Good video. Now! Go ride that thing...

  • Nice work.
