  • @planetcheck From what I've read, a plan was in place to bring the series back in periodic movies throughout the up-coming television season. The ratings for 15 Yrs. Later were good enough to warrant a "return". Prior to finalizing the schedule for the next season of programming, there was a change in the powers in charge at CBS. MFU was among the projects that were summarily swept off the table. That was why there were no further sequels.

  • They should have made another Man From U.N.C.L.E. tv movie over the disappearance of Air Force One with the Secretary of State on board.

Don't know how the producers didn't catch on to making several more of these tv movies.

They missed the ball on this one!

  • Totally agree with kitti0702. There's only one Naploeon and only one Illya, b/c the actors put so much of themselves into the characters they played. But anyways, about the movie, Robert and David both thought it was a bit ridiculous to try to bring the show back at all. But in spite of that, hollywood wanted them to do the movie so in the end, they did. Hollywood will never learn that some things are better left alone.

  • @kitti0702: Much like this one.

  • @Neville6000 Yeah, whatever ... totally missed the point. It would be just another knock-off movie.

  • @Anynom It's available on DVD - Amazon has it, and you might be able to find it on Overstock as well.

  • @Katesloveslave I always thought Napoleon would take over for Waverly someday and Illya would become his 'second in command' or possibly take over another section or something. I remember watching this and being perplexed that they had both left the spy business....

  • Read an interview where McCallum said that he thought after 20 years in the States, Illya would have lost his accent which is why it's not as thick here. Nice touch there, wish they'd get this on DVD with the rest of the series.

  • I, personally, would prefer for Napoleon & Illya to take Leo G. Carroll's place as the heads of UNCLE. Then choose two new actors to play new spies. Hell you could even get Stephanie Powers in on it and have a woman in on the main "team". Have it become a place for cameo appearances of other famous stars.

  • @kitti0702: Bullcrap. Napoleon & Illya can be anybody, and can be played by anybody.
