Beautiful song and perfect for Diana - should've been released as a single.

@pnyc1969 ok, if you seen her do this twice I'll defer to your judgment. Her voice is tired and strained in a lot of her live performances because of over use from her constant touring. every once in a while she'll come out with an amazing live vocal performance but it's easier for one to do that if they only had one song to sing for the event. having to sing 40 songs in one event precludes exceptional singing on every song.

@whatigot2say I still think she's lip-synching. Live, she's very creative. Also, when I saw her sing this at Radio City in May she suspiciously moved up a set of stairs at the far back of the stage and was bathed in a stream of lights that obscured a clear view. And, again, sounded exactly like this version and the cd, both of which show her at her best. Her live performances today do not show her in her best voice. She still has her distinctive phrasing but she often strains to hit notes.

@pnyc1969 singing live, not lip synching. perhaps she should sing closer to her recordings more often.

@wdrayr YES INDEED I WAS THERE ALSO

I have to weigh in with the lip-synching vote. It sounds exactly like the recorded version. I have never heard her sing a live version that's so close to the recording. Every turn and riff is the same. I think the backup singers are adding something live for effect. If I'm wrong, though, it's probably her best live performance in 10 years or more.

I don't know why Diana Ross feels like she has to do upbeat, loud songs that just don't suit her voice anymore.
Here she sounds incredible. When she's doing soft ballads or cool jazz you can't touch her.

she sounds amazingly good here. when she's good she's good. i've heard her sound terrible i.e. american idol. guess she was rested and her voice wasn't tired and strained from over use. this was beautifully sung.

Wow.., I had never heard or seen this performance. Love her lower register. From 2007?? Sister is still 'bad' !! Amazing.

This is so beautiful. Thank you for posting. I love this song. So funny she performed this. A good friend said the first time we saw the play Color Purple that Diana Ross would be a perfect Shug Avery ... and this is one of Shug's songs.
I saw this tour in January of 2008 in Atlantic City's Borgata. She had the audience mesmerized. Her version of this song was special; even in a flawless series of gems.

You obviously are NOT a big enough fan not to know her live vocal spread!
Nor have you listened to the I love you disc enough to know that this is a different vocal synchronizing than the CD. You people are so discriminating yet you have so little social proficiency Typical!
