Main Street

For about half a year back in the early '70's, I shared a house on Main Street in Urbana, Illinois with some very good friends. Having only lived in apartment buildings up to then, I felt like I was living in heaven. But there's money to be made in real estate development, so the family we were renting from had the place bulldozed and put up a parking lot. I still haven't figured that out.
So there I was, sitting on the floor in a dump a few blocks down the street, filled with good memories, trying to figure out how to play guitar in open tuning. This song sort of just happened. I haven't figured that out, either.
