VERY nice scratchbuilding techniques, Sir, and very similar to those we use at this end. You are definitely a steely-eyed missileman!
Also, for the record, we at New Ocean Rocketry are going to continue flying Ares I and Ares V as a sort of contemptuous "in your face" against the Administration for their absolute stupidity in cancelling Constellation.
I hope you are continuing (or intend to continue) your great project of Ares V.

How much does it weigh? If it's more than two pounds or so you may want to try clustering some Aerotech motors. A cluster of 3 D12 motors seems a little underpowered for a rocket of this size.

I'm using a cluster of 3 E engines...I outgrew the D engines a long time ago! :P Weight of the rocket hasn't been taken...yet..but I imagine if its anything like the Saturn V, it will be right around 26 ounces!

Oh, now i get it. i need two fins on the boosters and one fin in the middle to act as a vertical stableizer
DUUHHH !!
Why didn't i think of that before hand.
BTW: Thats awesome looking dude!

Just trial and error, sir! I've tried short, wide, thin, fat and fins that will make the rocket spiral, but for a body frame of 5" I have the fins setup at 2" x 4". Not a great ratio, but it works!
