FRED GIVING BARNEY HIS PEBBLES?

I thought I already said that, 'Ray'....

@fromthesidelines You'd like to thing, but it's not a perfect world. They did this for real.

@SpanishPopeye1 I had the good fortune to work on some of the better ones in the 1990s. A few of them I worked on are COCOAHONTAS, CARTOON MAN, VIRTUAL REALITY, THE PURPLE PHANTOM, GHOST, and one featuring GAZOO. I did the final work on all of GAZOO'S scenes except for the very first.

As long as Alan Reed and Mel Blanc provided their voices, NO amount of "bad animation" could ruin one of these commercials! I'd LIKE to think this was just a "test" ad- with crude, incomplete animation- that wasn't supposed to be broadcast...produced just for General Foods' consideration as to whether to produce a fully-animated version....but this IS an actual ad, with animation from a cheap, "fly-by-night" production outfit.

Darn thats old.

New glow-in-the-dark Fruity Pebbles. Now enriched with Radium.

This probably would have scared me as a kid, lol.

He did when they had the Holiday Fruity Pebbles.
This (I Think) 1977 commercial may be animated from Japan (either Toei-Doga or Mushi) because Fred and Barney's eyes looked a little anime-ish.

Nope, it's much earlier in the 1970s (Alan Reed, the voice of Fred here, was dead by 1977). While Hanna-Barbera didn't make this (as they did with the better Pebbles spots), it's also definitely not Japan or anime in any way (commercial work wasn't outsourced in those days, and still isn't for the most part, though of course CG has changed things). It looks like some studio took bad cereal art or coloring books as their model (the too broad inks, etc.) and went from there.
