Writer in Residence: 'Ancient Egypt' by Jean 'Binta' Breeze

'Ancient Egypt' is part of a collection of Write Here poetry by Leicester based poet and international artist, Jean 'Binta' Breeze.

The Ancient Egypt Gallery featured in the video is on teh ground floor of New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester.

This collection has been inspired by, and written during, Jean's residency at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, as part of Writing East Midlands' writers in residence programme, Write Here.

Jean has been exploring the life and stories of the museum inspiring people to engage with and write poetry about the exhibitions. Through the power of poetry she has been bringing new life to objects !nd stepping back in time from Ancient Egypt through to more modern times, and visiting the life and work of the Godfather of Ska, Laurel Aitken.
