"If there were no sanctions on the DPRK, if there were no imperialist threats to the Korean people, if the Korean homeland was not partitioned and the Korean people were not divided, then the Korean people, already today, would have a standard of living that would be second to none in the world.

"And if there are some difficulties in the lives of the Korean people, then we know exactly who to blame. The blame lies 100 percent with the US imperialists and those who support them -- the Japanese imperialists, the British imperialists and the reactionary regime in South Korea."

Keith Bennet speaks (Part 2 of 2) at a meeting of the CPGB-ML to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the victory of Korea in the Fatherland liberation war (1950-53).

Tiny but defiant Korea, struggling to maintain its independence and freedom, with the solidarity of the communist international and all working people, was able to withstand the brutal onslaught of the US-led juggernaut and force them to sign an armistice agreement in 1953. This was the first US imperial war of aggression that did not end in victory for the US.

Latest provocations are simply a continuation of the 1950-53 US-led war of aggression. Working people everywhere know and understand that it is the US imperialist Goliath, and not the tiny but heroic DPRK, that threatens world peace and human progress.
