@christophorM Beautiful comment. Thank you for sharing that. Yes, when we turn our life around we are made new creatures abhoring the very sight and thought of sin. This is the miracle of His atonement. Not only is he taking away the penalty we would suffer, but also our old miserable life. And that comes after we have sincerely made every attempt to change within. He makes up for the difference.

I died twice, once in the faith and once outside of the faith and they were two entirely different experiences. In the faith, it was as he described "peaceful, serene, loving" and I was floating above my body but when I died outside of the faith, I was surrounded by 9 evil spirits and they looked at me like they were ready to snatch me up; it scared me so much that I fought to breathe again and I believe God allowed me to see that to get me off of my sinful path and back in the faith.
