This from the official film that NASCAR and the Darlinggton Raceway put out for the 1977 Southern 500, won by David Pearson, with Donnie Allison second and Buddy Baker third. Richard Petty was fourth, while Yarborough had to settle for fifth, as a result from an incident with Darrell Waltrip while both were battling for the lead in traffic. Waltrip rear-ended the car of D.K. Ulrich, igniting a crash that involved, Waltrip, Yarborough, and Ulrich, as well as Janet Guthrie and Terry Bivins.

When Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon win some races and titles in cars like this then I'll put them up there with the legends like Mr. Yarborough here.
-
raw power tamed by the driver to do what he wants it to do ! that was cool!

Music to my ears!!!!!
This video serves a good evidence against the people that say these guys are not atheletes...Look at Cale muscle that car around! Not to mention the hand/eye/foot coordination going on here at once. Great video, thanks for uploading.

@juhdiakathat you try racing a 4000lb car at 170 mph with no power steering. Oh thats right, youve never even driven to the liquor store without power steering, ABS, air bags, A/C, or your shitty music blasting. Oh and by the way, there were A LOT of road courses on the schedule when they raced.
