A few quick videos/images from some astrophotography I did earlier today.

There were two nice ISS passes today. The first was early morning, and that is the one shown in this video. The second was in the early evening and it was too bright out to properly focus the telescope and set the exposure levels. So instead, I tracked the station visually extremely beautiful! Especially when the solar panels hit the sweet angle and reflect the sun. I recommend everyone with a telescope to get out and try to visually track the ISS its actually fairly easy, and you get great views at only 25X magnification. As always, please excuse the wobbly/shaky ISS footage I hand tracked the station through the telescopes finderscope.

The Jupiter video/images were just quick captures early in the evening after the second ISS pass. I noticed that there was a Callisto shadow transit, so I thought Id grab an AVI or two. As you can see, the seeing wasnt terribly good, and I was having some trouble with the poor balance job I did with the telescope/mount, so I packed up pretty quickly. I used Registax for processing.

All videos/images were captured using a 10 Newtonian telescope and a DMK21AU04.AS camera.

  • It's not that difficult, but when you are in a rush... I understand you.

  • ¿Cual eran las coordenadas de ese entonces?

  • All your vids are fantastic, it's a pleasure to watch each one of them. No need to be sory for the shaky video ;)

  • Great job Chris
