MHADA houses are no longer stinking holes and down market. Over 88,000 forms sold off on the first day of opening yesterday. MiD DAY visited Prateeksha Nagar in Sion, the only MHADA colony which was thrown open to the public in 2006. Residents there say the flats are worth the money--a fair comparison to any construction by a private developer—they are airy, no major leakage complaints, the floors dont come off. The only thing that they complain IS there is no privacy: They can hear the conversation of their neighbours. And worst is the sound of running water from the tap in a neighbours toilet or a blaring TV programme in an alien language.
