Precisando de Magia: Edição e Narração

The definitive three-and-a-half hour documentary about the troubled creation and enduring legacy of the science fiction classic "Blade Runner," culled from 80 interviews and hours of never-before-seen outtakes and lost footage.

  • @Zyrna539 I'd watch a never ending version of Blade Runner

  • @Massivecarcrash Heh, I forgot all about that comment that I left all that time ago. It would never happen, but it would be cool.

  • @Zyrna539

We can only dream, but the cost of remastering and putting all that footage together, not to mention, making it fit in the movie as a whole.

Don't think it will ever happen.

  • I believe i'm lucky that I am that young that I never got to see the theatrical version.

  • Jeez, the commercial version ruined a lot...

  • @RAIDERS58th I watched this documentary a little more and had the unfortunate experience of seeing it with the voice overs again recently, and like the director of The Shawshank Redemption said, I was so into that Tears In Rain moment until the ridiculous voice over came in and destroyed any emotional buildup that scene had.

  • This movie seemed like the biggest nightmare to make, yet I guess you have to go through a challenge to get a masterpiece.

  • The very first time I saw BLADERUNNER, I knew that voice over and that up-beat ending were mistakes and would eventually have to go.

  • @akatsukimercenary But you see, it's a more modern day homage to 40s-50s detective serials, as they were narrated almost constantly by the protagonist. Of course, Ridley and the others understood this, which is why they tried to keep it to a minimum, but as Harrison says, no matter how much Ridley wanted Deckard to be a Replicant, he likes to believe he was human so the audience has someone to connect with. Therefore, the monologues help us connect to him.

  • Narration in movies should be done less, like the saying goes "less is more". I like it when narration works in conjunction to what is happening on screen, Lord of the Rings did pretty well in the opening of the Fellowship of the Ring when Galadriel was explaining the origin of the One Rings, the seminal history and the villain Sauron in a few short minutes of the movie. Narration smothers the movie experience and dulls it. Leaving a sour note in the mind of the viewer.
