  • Zijn uitspraak is perfect :) Je hoort wel dat hij hier niet woont aan z'n woordkeuze e.d. maar hij spreekt vloeibaar Nederlands :P

  • The fact that he sounds like a Dutchman when speaking Dutch has probably a lot to do with the fact that he has a Dutch mother

If you need a lot of improvement in English then how could you attend any English University?

Dutch people butcher The English Language everyday, especially with regards to our tenses, that is not "respect" as you put it.

  • @mty1 I have been reading your little discussion with people here and I have to say that I disgust your attitude, sir! I am Dutch as well and with my level of English I can attend any English university. I also speak German and a little bit of French and I am learning Japanese at the age of 16. I am not saying that I am all perfect here, my English still needs a lot of improvement, but at least we take the time to learn other languages, respect them and not speak contemptuously like you do!

  • jullie zijn allemaal varkens

  • @mty1 Hi, could I perchance thrust my humongous genitalia right up your eye socket? It'd mean the world to me.

  • @adgw1423 english is an Anglo-frisian language and that's a fact.

  • He speaks German and Spanish as well.

  • those people aren't holding up the signs in support...it's raining j/k

  • @mty1 Danish is most definitely not the closest to English. English is closest to Frisian and Dutch.

  • @RsGhost1 En hij spreekt een beetje 'vorige generatie' Nederlands. Z'n tongval is een beetje jaren '50achtig.

Dunno his/her source but mine is logic. Supposing Dutch is the closest to English, as you said... well how close in absolute terms? how close in relative terms is the 2nd closest one? If 100 meters is the standard and the three closest magnitudes are, say, 17, 18 and 19 respectively, why insisting in being the closest one? why not saying that the Dutch is the closest language to German at a percentage way greater than that between Dutch and English?
