  • What model is that and how much did it cost ?

I want one of those :D

  • It's a Minox (A) IIIs, i've had this for a while but they sell on eBay between £60 and £150 for a good working clean A model, the B model and C model tend to fetch a bit less but the B is the most practical and versatile

  • I own several Minox cameras and I still dont get clear pictures like my grandfather did! I mean his pictures were extremely clear. Any Suggestions?

    Thanks

  • If you clarify on your comments I can probably help.

Is it the negs which are fuzzy or OOF?, the prints? are you trad darkroom printing and if so to what size?, are you scanning and digitising, again with what equipment and to what size?

What film are you working with, do you load your own or use pre-loaded, are your cassettes good and light tight, likewise camera.

I've never used a Riga but know the lenses are good and the C should give you crystal clear images

  • im using the black and white film. The Prints are very fuzzy. I did not process them myself. I do not use the Riga much considering it is very expensive and rare and I do not to risk it. So I use my C and my Classic Camera IIIF Minox. I used the color and it was also fuzzy. What do you mean by load your own or use preloaded. Im sorry im only 12. I use the one minox sells in the little box. I just need some tips on getting non fuzzy pictures, like my grandfathers. The film was processed by Minox.

  • You use preloaded cassettes and you're haveing them processed by a lab so that takes the fault, (in theory) away from those two

    Three possibilities are that

1 - The lens is not engaged and focusing, (unlikely if this happens with two different cameras)

2 - The images are out of focus (OOF), Have you correctly set the focus wheel?

3 - The shutter speed is slow resulting in motion blur, (on the C in auto mode you don't know what speed the shutter is firing at), take a pic of a staionary item with

  • camera firmly held to a flat surface to ensure no camera shake.

Hopefully one of these will lead to the solution.

As for the Riga, i'd say use it, it's a camera, designed to take pics and it's a shame when these don't get used, they are very sturdily made and not easily damaged and can always be repaired if needed

  • Can I get this film developed at a local photography store or develop it myself, or does it have to be sent to them for development?

  • Thank you very much! That was very helpful.

  • where can u buy new film and how do you know if it is actually shooting. I see a black box near the lens , what does that do?
