If people don't pay tithes & offerings how can the gospel cover the Earth and how will one feed, clothe and help the homeless and how will the gospel reach the whole world without tithes and offerings. Mr. no matter what you are people say the gospel is reaching the whole world by tithes and offerings and it will continue for obedient Christians obeying God's word.

To yhwhkai... we are the church. theses buildings called churches are man made organizations. we are the church. the church has always been a community of believers not a business. we need to bear each others burdens and therefore fufilling the law of christ.

Because of that "widow's mite", I've had it hammered in me over and over during church services - making me feel guilty for not giving up my last dollars and who cares if I didn't have any money to get to work or feed my family "cause God was going to bless me." Or "the give out of your need" line. I've grown so weary with the cliches'. I see why people have left the traditional church and now have church in their homes.

I'm coming across this now as I'm trying to show Christians that tithing is not necessary today. All they can come back with is how churches will be shut down if people didn't tithe. To this I reply, how can a church get shut down if people gave the bible way? If God established that church, He will no doubt take care of its needs. Folks and their excuses for remaining in bondage amazes me.

I used to teach tithing as it was taught to me until I learned the truth for myself.
