Our youth will be working with the Center for Student Missions to minister to the thousands of homeless in the NYC area. According to the Coalition for the Homeless, during 2005 the number of homeless New Yorkers residing in shelters each night has reached the highest point in New York City's history. In February 2005 some 36,200 homeless men, women, and children were sleeping each night in the New York City shelter system, including 14,900 children, 12,600 adult family members, and 8,700 single adults. Thousands more sleep on city streets, park benches, and subway trains. Some of the things you might find our team of youth doing in The Bronx is working in soup kitchens, working at a food bank, doing street evangelism, doing ESL tutoring, and working at a children's home.

Catacamas, Honduras

The city of Catacamas is an extremely poverty stricken city about 100 miles outside Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. In Catacamas the team will be working alongside The Branch missionaries Roberto and Blanca Mondragon to build complete homes for the local families, working and spending time with children at Christian Relief Fund's Children's Home, and putting on a VBS for the local children. This will be the 7th year that The Branch has sent a summer team to Catacamas.

Osaka, Japan
Date: July 21-August 7 (these dates are flexible based on the team)
# of Team Members: up to 8 people
Cost: Approx. $2,200
Requirements: Attend training and debriefing, raise or pay funds in full, and follow all The Branch missions guidelines while on the field.

Team Leader: Chad and Cassy Lawson
Deadline: February 15
Deposit: $200

In Osaka we will be working alongside The Branch missionaries Judith Alexander and Chad and Jennifer Huddleston. There are over 127 million people living on the island of Japan and less than .2% of those people are evangelical Christians. It is amazing that in such a technologically advanced country there are still so many who have never heard the name of Jesus. In Osaka we will be working with the Be One Church (a series of house churches.) We will be ministering through street evangelism, outreach to local teens, conversational English, intercessory prayer, and teaching a mom/preschoolers mentoring program.
