BC has introduced new legislation to restrict the sale of body armour to fight gang activity. Does this seem weird or is it just me?

  • Heck, it's even illegal to have a hidden compartment in your vehicle now. The Aftermarket Compartment Act was passed alongside of the Body Armour Control Act. So, want to keep your valuables safe in your car while in the mall, at work, etc? To bad. The Lieberals have made it an offence (up to 60K fine I think) to have any compartments installed in your car that are meant to hide things.

Sorry for the typos, tiny little buttons on this mobile device...! :-)

  • So what are we going to do about it? Absolutely nothing. Because here in Canada we are conditioned to believe the government knows what's best for us in all regards. We as a nation, and as a people, have lost touch with our Common Law roots, and our ability to think for ourselves. In our fuzzy wuzzy Canadian stupour, we have minimalized the importance of our rights, and our freedoms. We are letting them slip away, folks.

  • As result of this law, EVERYONE should immediately go out any purchase body armour. This is a perfect example of where civil disobedience is appropriate. The government has zero right to tell anyone what they can and cannot wear in terms of benighn articles of clothing, and it is not for them to decide what makes me feel safe . If I wish to wear a passive form of protective clothing, then it is not for the government to prevent me from doing so.

  • I agree with you 100%. This law is ridiculous; the only reason it was introduced was to make it appear as though the Lieberals are actually doing something about gang violence, without actually doing anything at all. Another useless law on the books, that, again, like the long gun registry, only serve to incriminate and enslave law abiding people. Legislating and regulating body armour is ludicrous - it will be of no detriment whatsoever to gang violence in this province whatsoever.

  • This is ridiculous. It's next to impossible to legally own a hand gun in BC.Who has them? Criminals, who doesn't? honest citizens.

Meanwhile politicians are getting payed to play golf while cutting services across the board.

    Up is the new down.
