X-10 works great if your house wiring is up to date otherwise you might have to trouble shoot find solutions to switch cams or just use the supplied remote manually without switching through the Active Home software.
I had to act like an asshole for two days before they would give me a shipping label to return the product they sent me that was defective. They wanted me to pay for shipping it back to them. I said bullshit to that. Why should I pay to ship back a defective product they sent me. No way in Hell. They messed with the wrong guy. I would have had my credit card company go after them for the amount they charged me. They must think were all stupid and can pull shit off on us. They are so wrong .
So, you bought an item from an ebay seller who "claimed" it was new. More likely he was the original buyer and just wanted to unload a defective three year old product. The fact that you blamed the manufacturer instead of the scam artist that sold it to you says a lot about your character. Basically, you just ripped off X10 and are still bitching like a baby.
@matrix86 I buy from all over. What you have to remember is that it's not the distributer's fault for a faulty item, but the company that makes the item. I buy from Newegg, TigerDirect, Amazon, Microcenter, and some other places. Technology isn't perfect.
Regardless, if you look at the return policies, all companies make you pay shipping when returning an item. Even items under warranty you have to pay shipping to send it in for repair. I've yet to come across anything different.

@0rickwhoo0 "They told me I have to pay to ship the defective pats back to receive another. That is not good buisiness."
Actually, all businesses do that. I buy a LOT of computer stuff from several different companies, and anytime something has to be returned, I have to pay the shipping. I have yet to come across a company that didn't do that. That's the downside to shopping online...unfortunately, shopping online is the only choice for a lot of products.
I bought from them and they do suck. They dont care about me as a customer. I bought a product from them and it did not work. They told me I have to pay to ship the defective pats back to receive another. That is not good buisiness. DO NOT BUY THERE PRODUCTS. be warned or see for yourself.

@matrix86 You must deal with some shitty companies. I never had to ship a defective item back before getting one that works.
