Fab Dupont, Producer/Mixer explains how you can integrate a Dangerous Music D-Box with your current audio interface, in this case a Digi003 (but just about any interface can be used).

  • Can i use 2 Dbox's and double the summing and everything else?

  • @ejvazquez6 It could be hypothetically possible to use 2 D-Boxes, but I think it would make more sense to link a D-Box and a 2-Bus. That would give you 24 channels of summing plus all the monitoring features of the D-Box

  • Hi great product I'm very interested in it..but before I talk with sweetwater, could you tell me how the latency is directly monitoring from the d box (post analog sum) WHILE recording or dubbing? any issues? thx

  • @Jtoneloc There is no latency with the D-Box itself, just whatever latency is present from your converters. While tracking, it's best to monitor from the SUM output, and not do the whole print back into DAW and monitor digitally technique. That assures that there will be no latency.

  • Hey guys, just installed the D-Box. Sounding really good now! One question tho: It seems when switching to the DAW input (going SPDIF from RME 800 to XLR DAW IN on dbox) that the volume is much louder as the SUM main mix output. Is this normal? thx

  • great videos, thank you very much your the man!

  • @DangerousMusicAudio Well the apogee ad8000se, have a bigger space defined sound, then the masterlink, I guess the masterlink shares the same convertors as the L2 from waves... and the 002 compared to the apogee isn't even on the same planet! So I may want to dedicate a pair on the ad8000se and bring it back into 1 and 2 on apogee! apogee is the strongest convertor in my system! thanks for the response! I live in ohio, and this is foreign language to most in this area!

  • @didubz so once you have everything summing in the 2-Bus, my suggestion would be to take the stereo out of the 2-Bus and hook it up to whatever outboard gear you want to use to process the overall stereo mix, and then take the output of that and bring it either into the masterlink or pro tools. I've never used a masterlink so I don't know the quality, so it's up to you which you use. Then you would monitor that source via digital out, where you would need another d/a to listen to that source

  • @DangerousMusicAudio Ok so these are my thoughts, I believe I am going to go the 2bus Lt route,, Route the outs of the convertors ad8000se, into the outboard gear of my choice, then route the extra 8 on the 002 into the 2bus.. having all 16 outputs being summed out of the box! Now bringing it back into the session, or final mix using masterlink! what are your thoughts on finishing the overall mix? bring it back into pro tools? I have aes out on the apogee ad8000se

  • @DangerousMusicAudio how would you connect the d-box to a 92 i/o? d sub out of 192 - into d sub.... then.... im lost... thanks.

  • Very fast-paced explanation, which we like in this day and age. I'm buying one like right now! Thank you for this video :)
